How to Use Doman Cards

Doman Cards provide an easy and engaging learning process. Here's a quick guide to using them effectively:

  1. Introduce the Topic: Start by discussing the theme of the card set with your child, sparking their interest and curiosity.

  2. Show the Cards: Briefly present each of the five cards in the set, spending about one second on each to keep your child focused and intrigued.

  3. Repeat for Fun and Learning: Show the cards three times daily for one week. This method combines frequent repetition for learning with quick sessions for fun, making for an enjoyable educational experience.

Assessing Your Child's Learning Progress with Doman Cards

To assess how well your child is absorbing the information:

  • Engage with Questions: After a week, use the cards to quiz your child. Offering two choices instead of direct questions creates a more interactive and less intimidating learning environment.

  • Limit the Questions: Keep the questioning to a maximum of three per session to ensure it remains a fun and engaging activity.

The Long-term Benefits of Using Doman Cards

The long-term effects of teaching children with Doman Cards, closely observed and documented by my grandfather Glenn Doman and myself, Spencer Doman, are quite profound. We've seen firsthand how thousands of children, who have grown up learning with these cards at home, often mature into worldly and knowledgeable adults with wide-ranging interests. Their early introduction to a variety of topics through Doman Cards — including history, animals, and nature — nurtures a deep curiosity and a keen desire to learn more about the world. Furthermore, these children frequently develop a strong interest in different cultures and a passion for travel. This indicates that the impact of Doman Cards goes well beyond childhood, effectively shaping learners into well-rounded and inquisitive individuals.
