This year has been our best so far—hearing from grandmothers who did the program with their kids decades ago, as well as new parents who are experiencing their kids reading for the first time or recognizing numbers before the age of two. Why Limiting Screen Time Is Crucial for Young Children
Cell phones and screens are everywhere these days, even in places they probably shouldn’t be, like classrooms. For young kids, too much screen time isn’t just about keeping them busy it’s about what they might miss out on. From brain development to mental health, the research is clear: screens are shaping the way kids grow up, and not always for the better. So, what’s the solution? Whether it’s limiting screen time at home or supporting phone bans in schools, it’s time to rethink how we use technology with our children.

His pioneering Doman Method, which started with children with cerebral palsy, has now empowered millions of parents worldwide to teach their babies to read. Phonics vs Sight Words: Choosing the Best Method for Early Reading
Key Takeaways:
Phonics teaches children to decode new words by sounding out individual letters and sounds, while sight word instruction involves recognizing high-frequency words for quick recognition to improve reading fluency.
Phonics is boring, tedious, and impractical for teaching babies and toddlers to read. Furthermore, it does not work if a child is not yet verbal or has a speech delay. Another approach is required.
The Doman Method focuses on teaching all words as sight words with joy and enthusiasm. By using large, bold, and recognizable text, parents can effectively teach their babies and toddlers how to read. It does not require speech in order to learn how to read.

My Experience as a Mom Doing the Doman Method with Four Kids
I’m Rosalind Doman, a mother of four wonderful children. They are all adults now and the founders of Doman Learning, but years ago, I had the privilege of teaching them using the Doman Method. Teaching my children not only allowed me to nurture their reading and math development from a very young age but also deepened our bond as a family.
It’s Never Too Late
Recently, a touching message from a concerned mother found its way to us at Doman Learning. She was just beginning her journey with the Doman Method for her child and was worried, "Am I too late?" This question was laden with guilt and a fear of having missed out on providing the best for her child from the start. This concern, shared by many parents who reach out to us, weighs heavily on our hearts. The feeling of being "too late" can cast a shadow over the excitement of embarking on a new educational path with your child. However, this concern opens up a broader conversation about the value of every step taken towards enhancing your child's learning experience, regardless of when it begins.

3 Reasons Why Glenn Doman’s Reading Program Changed Early Childhood Literacy
The Doman Method™ reading program was created by my grandfather Glenn Doman and his book “How to Teach Your Baby to Read” in 1964. Since then over 5 million parents worldwide have used the information to teach their children to read, including my parents Douglas and Rosalind. As a family we started Doman Learning so parents could teach their children early reading and math before school age just like my parents did for me. We designed the courses and materials at Doman Learning to make it easy for modern parents to teach their children in the simplest and most effective way possible.
