At its peak, one-third of homes with babies owned a Baby Einstein DVD. Parents believed they were giving their children a head start, but research showed the opposite. Babies who regularly watched these videos understood 6 to 8 fewer words than those who didn’t. Years later, that study was found to be flawed—but further research confirmed the same truth: videos don’t make babies smarter. Real learning happens through simple, direct interaction with parents.

This year has been our best so far—hearing from grandmothers who did the program with their kids decades ago, as well as new parents who are experiencing their kids reading for the first time or recognizing numbers before the age of two.
